The LEXAN™ SD film portfolio includes a lasermarkable grade, a bright white (opaque grade), a clear grade for the cover or intermediate layers, co-extruded film, and flexible hardcoated film. These films offer tight gauge tolerances to simplify the manufacturing of cards within mandated thickness parameters. They also provide high performance, exceptional durability, and tamper resistance with lamination of different film layers without the use of adhesives.
LEXAN™ SD films provide easy processing, with optimized textures for printing, hologram hot stamping, laminating, and die cutting. These processing capabilities in combination with the various films available provide manufacturers with all of the layers required for complete card construction. Applications where these films are being used include (e-) identity cards, drivers’ licenses, border crossing cards, residency permits, green cards, military and police ID, smart card inlays, and healthcare cards.
